Since the Association's founding in 2007, it has remained committed to serving young people and participating actively in community affairs, with strong support from relevant national authorities, the HKSAR Government, and the Education and Youth Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Association now has more than 1,500 members and 17 research groups and committees representing a wide range of professional sectors. Through seminars, forums, exchange programs, and training activities, it encourages Hong Kong youth to take an active interest in China's development and in issues affecting society.

Building on this foundation and its established community network, the Association created a charitable platform, The Y.Elites Foundation ("the Foundation"), to mobilize community resources, broaden the scope of its services, and advance youth development and charitable initiatives in a professional and sustainable manner.

The Foundation was established in response to community needs and reflects a commitment to serving the country and giving back to society. Following the severe rainstorms and flooding that affected the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Northeast China in 2023, the Foundation undertook its first major disaster-relief assignment. It administered approximately HK$5.96 million from the HKSAR Government's Disaster Relief Fund to provide food kits for flood victims in Jilin Province, applying rigorous oversight to ensure the effective use of public funds.

The Foundation's mission is to support national development and contribute to Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability. It mobilizes resources from across society to advance high-quality charitable work; creates platforms that support youth development and upward mobility; strengthens exchanges and cooperation among Hong Kong, mainland China, and the international community; and nurtures a new generation with a commitment to the country, strong professional capabilities, and a global outlook.

The Foundation focuses on three principal areas:

Youth Development

The Foundation organizes major forums and international exchange platforms. These include eight consecutive editions of the Boao Forum for Asia Youth Summit (Hong Kong), which have helped young people broaden their horizons, strengthen their professional capabilities, and share the stories of China and Hong Kong with international audiences.

The Foundation also supports the operation and management of youth accommodation and development spaces, including Home² Youth Hostel and HYAB JC Y Cube at Youth Square in Chai Wan. These initiatives provide important platforms for young people's personal growth, career development, and upward mobility.

National Engagement

The Foundation promotes cultural, professional, and industry-focused internship and exchange programs. These programs strengthen connections between young people in Hong Kong and mainland China, deepen their understanding of China's development and traditional Chinese culture, and foster a strong sense of national identity and cultural confidence.

Community Service

The Foundation undertakes charitable programs and emergency-relief work, including the distribution of disaster-relief supplies in affected areas of mainland China. It seeks to be a trusted, professional platform capable of undertaking important public responsibilities, mobilizing community resources, and serving young people.

The Foundation is committed to ensuring that every donation delivers the greatest possible public benefit and contributes meaningfully to the development of Hong Kong and the country.

Looking ahead, the Foundation will continue to serve as a bridge for charitable action. It will strengthen resource coordination, broaden its services, inspire young people's commitment to the country, and unite youth in contributing to Chinese modernization and high-quality youth development.
